Transform regular video into immersive 3D.

With a built-in holographic layer, the HLD gives depth to standard video. People, characters, and products look like they’re floating in space — no special setup required.

Why it’s different

  • Adds real depth to 2D content — no glasses, sensors, or ambient requirements

  • Compatible with your existing content workflows in Adobe Premiere, Unity, After Effects (green/white background or our templates)

  • Scales across sizes — from 16″ to 86″ — without bulky installations

  • Films beautifully — the holographic illusion works even on camera

Built for real environments

  • FHD (16″) & 4K (27″, 86″) clarity with high brightness

  • Ultra thin design — mounts like a regular display

  • Standard HDMI or USB input

  • Works with your existing signage or CMS systems

Shipping & Taxes

  • Free U.S. shipping. U.S. orders include applicable sales tax

What's in the Box

  • 1 x Hololuminescent™ display with VESA mount.
  • 1 x Raspberry Pi 4 demo media player
  • 1 x Pre-loaded demo content on a thumb drive
  • 1 x HDMI Cable (79" / 2m)
  • 1 x Power cord
  • 1 x Installation & Wall Mounting Guide

Features

  • Depth from nothing: As thin as a regular 2D display (0.67"), but capable of generating a deep volume through our patented holographic embedding technology.
  • Amazing cost-to-magic ratio: 10x lower total cost (display + compute) than our prior systems. At scale, this can approach the cost of regular LCD and OLED displays.
  • Capable of displaying: Products, characters, human figures, interactive scenarios, and general visual demonstrations (e.g., shoes, retail products).
  • Retina resolution holograms: when we say these have 4K resolution, we mean this displays pure uncut 4K resolution. Text and fine details look great.
  • Available Sizes: 16", 27", , and 86"
  • Designed for a world of video: It both runs on 2D video, and it films great.
  • Runs standard 2D video nested within 3D holographic content layers.
  • Future support for custom content templates and guided tutorials.
  • Easy to use: Can be installed anywhere a 2D display can go, and can run on any computer or media player that can run a regular display.
  • Comes with a demo-only onboard video player (USB input)

HLD 16” and HLD 27” ship Nov/Dec 2025. HLD 86” ship Q1 2026.
Learn more here.

Where does HLD ship to?

We ship internationally.

Note that orders shipped outside the U.S. and Hong Kong might be subjected to local customs fees, duties, or taxes.

For all orders made within the U.S, applicable states sales tax will also fall under the buyer's responsibility.

What’s included in the box?

• 1 x Hololuminescent™ display with VESA mount.
• 1x Raspberry Pi 4 demo media player
• 1 x Pre-loaded demo content on a thumb drive
• 1 x HDMI Cable (79" / 2m)
• 1 x Installation & Wall Mounting Guide
For large-scale deployments and remote management, the HLD is compatible with a variety of managed media players and CMS like Brightsign

What's the difference between a Light Field Display and a Hololuminescent™ Display (HLD)?

Think of our displays as two branches of the same tree:
• Hololuminescent™ Displays (HLD) → For effortless holographic presence, anywhere. Used for high-traffic engagement and presence.
• Light Field Displays → For advanced 3D visualization, interaction, and research. Used for industrial visualization.

Learn more here.

How does the HLD™ technology work?

Hololuminescent™ Display technology builds on a decade of holographic and light field experience and intellectual property.. This new HLD technology combines a fixed holographic volume baked into the display's optical stack, creating true depth and dimension that makes people, characters, and products appear to float in space.

The HLD does not require eye-tracking cameras. It is intended to work as well for one person as it does for dozens of people at the same time.
The technology behind the Looking Glass hardware and software is protected by patents granted and pending around the world.

Learn more  here.

Does the HLD™ have a touch screen?

No, the standard HLD does not currently have touch-screen fully integrated. However, depending on your needs we can integrate touch-screen and other interactive UI.

Inquire further atsupport@lookingglassfactory.com.

Can I get a custom sized HLD?

Depending on your size requirements, we can create custom-sized HLDs for your needs. HLDs can be made from as small as 2" to 200".

Please contact us and let us know what you are looking for at support@lookingglassfactory.com.

What resolution do the HLDs have?

The HLDs feature a full HD (1080p) resolution for the 16” display and 4K resolution for the 27” & 86" displays.

What computer do I need to run the HLD?

The HLD includes a Raspberry Pi 4 for demo and experimentation purposes.
For long-term installations, we recommend using a digital signage solution such as BrightSign or Scala. These solutions must support:
• 1080p output for the HLD 16"
• 4K output for the HLD 27" and HLD 86"

Both HDMI and DisplayPort (DP) connections are supported.

Other computer configurations (e.g., Windows PC or macOS) are also compatible, provided they meet the same resolution requirements (1080p for HLD 16", 4K for HLD 27" and HLD 86") via HDMI or USB-C.

Does the HLD have audio playback?

The standard Hololuminescent™ Displays do not have built-in speakers. However, you can connect a speaker for audio playback via the 3.5mm AUX jack for audio out.

How do I deploy content for the HLD?

For demo and experimentation, you can use the included Raspberry Pi 4. Simply load your content onto a USB drive (following our upcoming guides) and insert it into the Raspberry Pi.

For permanent installations, we recommend a professional digital signage solution such as BrightSign.

Inquire further atsupport@lookingglassfactory.com.

How do I make content for the HLD?

The HLD displays standard 2D video enhanced with shadows and lighting effects that make the content appear as if it’s on a holographic stage.

You can create these videos in several ways:
AI video generation(e.g., Kling, Veo, Runway)
Real-world footage(e.g., iPhone, DSLR)
Digital renderings(e.g., Blender, Cinema4D, Maya)

To add the lighting effects, we will provide an Adobe Premiere Pro / After Effects template along with a user guide.

In addition, you can build real-time applications using tools like Unity3D and Unreal Engine. Templates, tutorials, and user guides will be available soon.

Can I make custom backgrounds for my HLD?

At the moment, all HLDs come with a pre-set alcove (box).

For custom backgrounds, please inquire further at support@lookingglassfactory.com.

What's your refund policy?

Looking Glass Factory offers a 30-day, no-questions-asked refund for any of our standard products you’re not satisfied with, provided the product is in its original, sellable condition. You can review the full policy here.
